Thread Vein Removal

You will not need to cover your thread veins anymore. Ellipse uses short, safe bursts of light to quickly remove those surface capillaries from your face.

A thread vein is a small blood vessel near the surface of the skin. Short bursts of light are guided over the blood vessels to destroy the protein in the wall of the thread vein. As a result the veins will gradually and safely disappear. There is no recovery time, the skin will be slightly red for an hour after treatment. However, in rare circumstances, where the treated area has a high density of lesions the redness may last up to 24 hours.

From 1-4 treatments may be needed at monthly intervals to successfully treat the vessels.

The light used is completely safe, visible light. Potentially harmful wavelengths are removed by the unique Ellipse Dual Filtering mode system.

This application cannot be performed on an active tan.

How does the Ellipse treatment work when treating Facial Thread Veins?

The light is attracted to the oxy-haemoglobin in the blood. As the light is absorbed by the blood in the vessels a heat reaction is caused which coagulates the blood and destroys protein in the wall of the vessel. The vessel then breaks down and the debris is removed by the body’s natural waste disposal system.

Slight redness is seen immediately after the treatment and this will disappear in 1-2 hours or in very rare cases a few days. A blurring of the vessel is often apparent after treatment.

It is also recommended to avoid direct sun exposure for 60 days prior and 30 days post treatments. On average 1-4 treatments with a 4 week interval may be necessary.
